Take your time: wellbeing programmes during pregnancy
When the body starts to change, many women wish to do more for themselves and their bodies. The body is pleased because it will be exposed to unusual strains in the next months and is grateful for any support.
Legs: A marathon is a piece of cake by comparison
It is a given fact that the legs have to perform at maximum as the pregnancy progresses. This often results in tired and heavy legs. Apart from the cooling leg balm of Töpfer Mamacare, we have a few more tips to help make your legs feel better. Those who have a Kneipp facility nearby should tread water regularly. However, every stream, lake with a shore or the children’s inflatable pool is a way of refreshing your legs easily. Cold water splashed on to the skin from the watering can is also helpful in warm weather. Make sure that the heels of your shoes are not too high and take every opportunity to put up your legs and relax. Avoid warm baths and standing for a long time; refrain from epilation using hot wax and forego your visits to the sauna. Concentrate instead on all the things that stimulate your circulation. Sleep with elevated legs; special pregnancy and support stockings may also be useful.
Skin care: help your skin to grow
In particular, the skin is up against a big challenge during pregnancy, and the elasticity of the skin is put to the acid test. The girth measurement can increase to more than 100 centimetres. Although nature has designed the skin of women to tolerate the strain, stretch marks may still appear on the stomach, breast, bottom and thighs. These fine streaks in the subcutis can sometimes be prevented through regular care, for example with Mamacare massage & body oil. Many pregnant women suffer from dry, itchy skin. Mamacare massage & body oil can help here, too, with its natural ingredients.
Give yourself a massage
During pregnancy, the skin’s function is very demanding, particularly the stomach, breast and buttocks area. However, with the help of Mamacare massage and body oil you can effectively support the skin and and prevent stretch marks if applied regularly.
It is best to start with regular massaging no later than in the 3rd month of pregnancy.
And this is how you do it:
Warm up the Mamacare oil in your hands and massage it into the skin with your fingertips. Start on the bottom and then proceed over the side to the belly button. If the tummy is still smaller, we recommend a pinching massage. Take the skin between the thumb and the forefinger and pinch it gently. If this is painful or if you tend towards premature contractions, you may massage the areaswith your hands using circular motions and light pressure.
Here again, we recommend spreading hand-warmed oil over the chest evenly from the bottom to the top. At the end, you can massage the breastbone with your fingertips in a clockwise direction.
Spread the oil in circular motions over the buttocks and thighs. Then you can massage the area between the sacrum and thigh using vigorous up and down movements. Exert strong pressure on these body parts using your fists. As the stomach gets rounder, the skinstretches little by little. With Mamacare massage and body oil, you can support this process very naturally.
By the way: Mamacare oil is absorbed by the skin very well after showering. Pat the skin a little dry and then apply the oil on the still moist skin. An emulsion is produced which is optimally absorbed by the still warm skin.
Turn your massage into a ritual à deux and have your partner give you a relaxing massage. Not only do you care for your baby tummy, but you give your partner the feeling of being a part of this wonderful pregnancy and establishing the first tender bonds.
